On June 2, 2018, I released a word at the Pastors & Prayer Warrior’s Prayer Centre that included among other things that the adults who are dull of hearing cannot train the babes proper phonetics because they are not hearing the sounds correctly to begin with. First, we need to correctly hear ourselves THEN teach the babes how to speak clearly. Failure to recognize the hearing impairment and confront it will result in the next generation being unable to communicate clearly.
As the night passed into June 3rd, I heard in my heart, “God is handing out Q-Tips.” with the impression that I needed to get up and look up “dull ears” immediately. There are 2 sides to this. Some of you ARE the Q-tips – are you willing to get dirty in order to help others get cleaned up? Others need to USE the Q-Tips to remove the spiritual ear-wax before it’s too late – will you use them?

So what are dull ears? Dull ears are spiritual ears that cannot hear God’s voice clearly or for some, not at all. What are the causes and consequences of dull ears?
Causes of Dull Ears:
– Men will not tolerate sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:3)
– Gather teachers around them to suit their own desires (2 Tim 4:3)
– Turn their ears away from the truth and turn to myths (2 Tim 4:4)
– Pastors / Leaders carrying a Pharaoh spirit telling the prophets in their midst, “Do not prophesy to us the truth (warnings, judgment, exposing sin, demonic oppression present, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, the whole counsel of God vs cherry picked denominationally correct content, anything that would “cause offense,” etc). Speak to us pleasant words; prophesy illusions.” (Isaiah 30:10)
– An uncircumcised, hard heart -> covered in sin & iniquity (Matt 13:15)
– Being foolish, without understanding (Jer 5:21)
à lack the Fear of the LORD and the wisdom it brings (Ps 111:10)
à lack knowledge of the Holy One (Prov 9:10)
à Failure to obey God’s commandments (Ps 111:10)
à Failure to depart from evil (Job 28:28)
– A warning from the LORD has become offensive, finding no pleasure in God’s word (Jer 6:10)
– God has given you a spirit of slumber because you worship with your lips but your heart is far from God. (Rom 11:8, Isa 29:10-13)
– Your fear of God is taught by the precept of men (denominationalism, fear of man) (Rom 11:8)
– Failing to be doers of the word (James 1:22)
– Refuse to be reproved, rebuked, or exhorted with all long suffering and doctrine (2 Tim 4:2)
Consequences of Dull Ears:
– Cannot handle meat -> missing out on deep spiritual mysteries (Heb 5:11-12)
– Unexperienced in the message of righteousness (Heb 5:13)
– Miss out on true conversion (even if you wear a mask of Christianity) (Matt 13:15)
– Miss out on spiritual and physical healing (Matt 13:15)
– Lack Spiritual hearing & spiritual sight (Matt 13:15)
– Stuck with parables instead of plain speech (Matt 13:13)
– Do not get knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven (Matt 13:11)
