Recently, 3 clay pots smashed in our garage, which I recognized was a prophetic timer of a previous blog called “Potter’s Vessel Puzzle Dump”. Days before that, a prophetic child my own children were playing with kept yelling “Fire in the hole! Fire in the hole!” and he kept striking his sword on the ground very intentionally. *Side note – A couple years ago, one of the prophets released a warning to listen to the children because they were prophesying. Over the years, we finally clued in that when this child kept repeating certain phrases or actions, it was because he was prophesying but we were too daft at the time to get it. Never underestimate the power of a child’s prophetic act, even when they’re non-verbal.
Now that I’m writing this out, I realized we missed 2 prophetic acts around the same time. That same child broke a dish by flinging it off the table, which at the time I chaulked up to boyish exuberance and lack of body-in-space awareness. And my littlest, who we have since recognized does a lot of prophetic acts (like dancing with and pumping the fireplace bellow days before the prophets were releasing that God was about to pour out His fire!), flung the gravy bowl off the table and smashed the handle off but somehow the actual bowl was spared. Both dishes were what I would consider the modern-day version of pottery today. I’ll let you unpack the gravy bowl for yourselves, as that’s pretty obvious now that I recognize the prophetic act for what it was.
Back to “Fire in the Hole!” Once we felt God highlighting this phrase, we moms started pondering what message the LORD wanted to get across. According to Wikipedia, “Fire in the hole” is a warning that an explosive detonation in a confined space is imminent, such as a grenade or explosive charge in mining operations. Also in relation to NASA space rockets, “The fire-in-the-hole test involved shutting down the descent rocket, blowing the bolts that attached the ascent and descent stages, switching control and power to the ascent stage, and igniting the ascent rocket while still nestled to the landing stage.” In light of the explosive reaction to the word, “Why are we bringing the UNCLEAN into the House of the LORD in order to make a buck?”, The LORD was giving us a heads up of what was about to happen as well as WHY it would happen. The reaction was not a failure of wrong timing, nor a word released out of season or even a fleshly word from my vain imagination, but rather a God-ordained Ka-BOOM to bring about a realignment and transfer of control!
As for a grenade, you pull the pin then throw it as fast as possible and hit the ground with your ears covered. You don’t pull the pin then wait for your instructor to tell you what your next instruction is – THROW IT! I developed a bad reputation in the military for being dangerous around weapons. Blowing up Coleman stoves, turning Coleman lanterns into 50 m high flares, getting bullseyes in the target at the OTHER side of the field than where I was aiming for, or the ax head going flying with the handle still in my hand. Looking back, I see the prophetic acts hidden within all of those “accidents”. J
My grenade experience was yet another memorable one. It almost blew up in my hands. My field instructor freaked, “Didn’t you know you were supposed to throw it right away????” “Nope. You didn’t instruct to throw it either.” It was the first time I had seen grenades, and since I wasn’t one to watch bloody movies or read books that demonstrated their usage, it would have been the same as me freaking at him for overinflating a Koo day-tip catheter in someone who just had a prostatectomy. Sometimes, you simply don’t know what you don’t know until someone points out you don’t know it.
How many leaders tell their congregants to pull the safety pin of His covenant, which I released in the video teaching of “The GREATEST Commandment” was loving the LORD by obeying His commandments written in the Law of Moses, yet fail to tell them the consequences of continuing to hold onto God’s covenant while remaining in blatant disobedience? If you remove the #1 commandment = Love God with ALL your heart, soul, mind, and strength, which you do by keeping His commandments (John 14:15) – you, your family, and everyone around you end up being spiritually blown up as collateral damage to your failure to keep YOUR part of God’s covenant. Our God is a JEALOUS God! If you’re going to enter into a covenant with anyone, shouldn’t you know the expectations for both parties before agreeing to it?
I sat down to unpack Jeremiah 19 for you, but this is already long enough to post as is and I’ll upload Jeremiah 19 separately.
