Recently, 3 clay pots smashed in my garage when an offensive covering – a Mickey Mouse hat – was removed from our home. I immediately recognized it as a prophetic timer of a prophetic download I received and posted June 2018 called, “The Potter’s Vessel Puzzle Dump.” It was a bunch of bits but I didn’t see how they connected at the time. My recent connections are recorded in “Warning! The Clay Pots Have Smashed.” You can read it here –

So, let’s unpack Isaiah 30 and see what clues we can glean. A judgment never falls without first a plan of repentance and redemption being offered first.
1) Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
It decrees judgment (woe!) against the rebellious children. The word for children is “ben” is used in referring to sons within genealogies, so it’s possibly that you can say to woe to the rebellious family lines. They cover with a covering (maccekah = an idol/god, a web, a vail, pouring out libations of worship to the idol in order to gain its favor & protection) but not of My spirit (uses the same word Maccekah) so they can ADD (be consumed, be destroyed, be snatched away) sin to sin. That means that they were disobeying God’s commandments and would be destroyed by their sin.
2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
They did not ask of My mouth. Mouth = Peh, which the prophets have released that 2019/5780 is the year / decade of the mouth. So instead of strengthening themselves at the spoken word of the LORD, which Moses wrote down, they run to Pharaoh – an uncircumcised king that makes slaves/orphans out of God’s children and destroys the Sons of God. They trust in the shadow (tsel) of Egypt, instead of the Shadow of the Almighty (Ps 91:1) Pharaoh became their provider and then eventually their taskmaster in exchange for them remaining in his territory. He provided the leeks and onions of Egypt, straw for their bricks, their land of & homes Goshen, as well as the whips and punishment for their backs when they tried to obey God’s commandments and the expectation that God’s children would now build HIS kingdom HIS way.
3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
The consequences of Egypt will be shame (loss of identity because they are no longer operating in the image/identity of their Creator and Father but rather an orphan / slave mentality) and confusion (a result of fear, which gets in when we fail to Fear the LORD).
4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
Their princes (governmental/military/religious leaders) were of Zoan (place of departure) and ambassadors (messengers, angels) of Hanes (Grace has fled…Cross ref with what numerous prophets are quoting from scripture in their warnings – Heb 10:26-31 about trampling on the spirit of grace; and Grace & Favour in the Bible are commonly interchangeable in English.)
Hebrews 10:26-31 New International Version (NIV) – “26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[a] and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[b] 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
5 They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
You shall be ashamed (dried up, withered, confounded) by a people who could not profit them (help them profit, excel, arise above, ascend on high). In other words, you will be dried up because your leaders couldn’t help you ascend on high…to where there is living water, therefore you will become a shame and be disgraced and a reproach to those who look at you = what I hear many in the world think when they look at church congregations or even how the world views the career of a Christian pastor.
Jesus was God, the Word, come in the flesh. He was the Living Water that if they would internalize it, they wouldn’t thirst. He was the water that poured from the ROCK in the wilderness…the Law of Moses was written upon the STONE/rock tablets. The New Covenant is the Law of God will not be written upon stone (outward) but upon our hearts (internalized), that we might not sin against thee. The Stone Tablets were carried inside the Ark that was in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle/Temple. Jesus declared “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” (John 2:19) Our physical bodies were always supposed to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor 3:16) The tent and Solomon’s temple were merely prophetic acts, right down to when the Fear of the LORD is abandoned, the temple gets overrun and destroyed.
6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them
They bring their riches (tithes & offerings???) to be carried away into the land of lions (the devil prowls like a lion waiting to devour), vipers (God has given us power to trample on serpents & scorpions, Devil in garden of Eden was a serpent), and fiery flying serpents (God’s plague against his rebellious people until they looked at the bronze snake on a staff) away upon the shoulders of asses (authority of stubborn, stiff necked people) and bunches of camels (beasts that carried cargo/wealth, also unclean animals) that won’t profit them.
The word ‘treasures” – The Hebrew means “storehouse, treasure, supply of food & drink”. The Fear of the LORD is to be our treasure (Is 33:6). Where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. (Matt 6:21) Cross-reference with Matt 6:22-23 Berean – “22The eye is the lamp of the body. If your vision is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your vision is poor, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” Cross-reference with Ps 19:7-8 – “7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” Prov 6:23 – “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:”
We have 4 storehouses that I’ve found in scripture so far.
1) Egypt’s national storehouses, which fed the literal land when there was a literal famine, which ended up bringing people into further debt as the famine prevailed.
2) The priests’ storehouses that needed to be built because there was so much provision brought to the house of the LORD in King Hezekiah’s day when they restored the keeping of the feasts and obedience to His word.
3) Store up our treasures in heaven, where moth and dust do not destroy.
4) The Rich man’s storehouses/barns, which cost him his life that very night.
7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
The Egyptians (the worldly uncircumcised leaders) will leave them empty, a bunch of meaningless hot air. Their strength (pride, arrogance, mythical sea monster) is to sit still (waste time, stop/cease, do nothing).
8) Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
Writing/transcribing the recorded warnings ensure they don’t get twisted or foggy with passing of time. There is also a record that the prophets released unheeded warnings to look back at when judgment comes because God does nothing without first telling the prophets. (Amos 3:7) Everything shall be established with the testimony 2 or 3 witnesses, even the judgment upon the House of Eli.
9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:
Again, the problem is caused by rebellious liars who won’t here the Law of the LORD. Cross connect that with 1 John 2:3-5 – Those who say they know God but don’t obey His commandments are liars. Rev 22:14-15 And Liars don’t get access to the tree of life. Titus 1:16 – They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
10) 10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
The rebellious children tell the seers not to see (those who have spiritual sight not to see, because now their rebellious spiritual condition is exposed) and the prophets to only prophesy what sounds good but never release the warnings / corrections. This is why the true prophets have been driven out of the corporate church buildings for the most part. The sign of a false prophet as per Deut 13:1-4 and Matt 7:21-23 is not the lack of accuracy nor power to prophesy, or perform miracles but the absence of obedience to God’s commandments, making them lawless ones.
11) 11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
They tell people to get out of the Way, the narrow path that leadeth to life (CR Matt 7:13-14) that few find, that it no longer applies today. It is obedience to God’s commandments that keep His peaceful presence with us. In Ex 33, Moses argued with the LORD who was going to depart from His people due to their rebellion and idolatry, saying that it was His presence that marked His people. Instead of departing, God stayed and severely judged His people with plagues every time they disobeyed. Example: Num 23-25, when they fornicated with the Midianite women in Shittim (representing the Presence of God, the wood that the Ark of Noah and Ark of the Tabernacle were built out of) after He had just spared them from Balaam’s curses and declared them a blessed people instead, then 24,000 were destroyed. If God ceased to be present, then His holy judgment would also appear to be absent also. Where the fear of the LORD departed, compromise and eventually death entered. When it was present, judgment was ready to land swiftly on the compromisers to maintain purity in the camp. The prophets are warning the Fear of the LORD is returning to the Body of Christ. I doubt many of them realize the severity of what they are prophesying.
12) 12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
The Rebellious children despised the word of the LORD, just like the Sons of Eli despised the LORD and therefore would be lightly esteemed and their family line eliminated. (1 Sam 2:30) They trust in Oppression (extortion, cruelty, injury, something taken away by force or fraud) and Perverseness (to turn away, to depart, be crooked, go wrong). and stay thereon (lean on, support oneself, trust in)
13) Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
– Iniquity = perversity, depravity, iniquity, guilt or punishment of iniquity
– Breach = outburst of God’s wrath, bursting forth, gap
– ready to fall = to fall, lie, be cast down, fail
– swelling out = to seek out, swell, cause to swell, boil up, enquire
– High = high (6x), exalted (6x), defend (2x), safe (2x), excellent (1x),
– wall = wall (like the walls of water between which the children of Israel walked between.
– whose breaking cometh = destruction, breaking, fracture, crushing, breach, crash, ruin, shattering,
– suddenly = surprisingly
– in an instant = suddenly, instantaneously.
So, it’s possible to rephrase this verse this way: Therefore this punishment for your depravity will cause an outburst of God’s wrath upon you to cast you down by causing your depravity to swell up to a place of visibility through your exalted, impenetrable protective wall, whose destruction will surprise you with its suddenness.
14) And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
God’s judgment will be so severe there will be nothing left to salvage. There will be no light nor no water remaining. Anyone with discernment will observe the absence of those two things in that person’s vessel.
15) For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
God gave them warnings. He gave them opportunities to repent BUT YE WOULD NOT. Stubbornness/rebellion will always lead to judgment falling upon you.
16) But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
Instead of repenting to avoid God’s judgment, they are so proud and deceived that to think that God’s judgment won’t touch them. Chariot horses are often symbolic of people under the king’s control, like people in a church who are seen as the pastor’s resources/chattel. You’re MY member and I”M the king you must bow down to.
The 2nd English “swift” is a different Hebrew word than the first one. It means those that pursue you will be a curse or be swifter, to bring judgment upon you.
