Introduction
It is a Friday morning, and you can hear in the background somebody sawing and chopping down trees. I find that really interesting considering the topic for today, which is “The Deafening of the Prophets.” So, this morning, as I was unpacking what I was going to talk about, I asked, “LORD, what is the message you want me to release?” I was reminded of a story that when God goes silent, sometimes it’s because you’re writing a final exam, and the teacher is not allowed to talk during the exam. They can’t give you the answers; they need to know what YOU know. That story came back to mind this morning. Then I heard, “But sometimes, they go silent because I have deafened them.”
That didn’t sound too good. I asked, “Where’s the scripture to back this up?” I was reminded of the scripture in Amos 8, which talks about the silence due to a famine of the Word of God. I’ll patch this together with other scriptures to show you WHO will experience this famine of the Word of God. It’s not for everyone, which gives us hope, but we will see the majority of people experience this famine.
Amos 8:8-12 – The Famine of the Word
Let’s dive in by starting with Amos 8, beginning at verse 8:
Amos 8:8 KJV – “Shall not the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn that dwelleth therein? It shall rise up, holy as a flood, and shall be cast out, and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.”
This is a clue. What happened with the flood of Egypt when the Red Sea returned? Those in their arrogance to chase God’s children after they realized their free, submissive workforce just walked out on them will end up suddenly discovering their lives are snuffed out. The window of miraculous impossibility that allowed God’s children to cross to the other side without injury ended up destroying their enemies when that window of time suddenly collapsed shut.
Amos 8:9-10 KJV – “It shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day. I will turn your feast into mourning and all your songs into lamentation, and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head. I will make it as the mourning of an only son, the end thereof as a bitter day.”
This brings us to the concept of a famine. In verse 11, it reads:
Amos 8:11 KJV – “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land—not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.”
The word “shama” means to hear and to do or to hear intelligently, meaning you will hear and then act on it. The word “debar” in Hebrew refers to the spoken Word. This is not a famine of food or drink but a famine of hearing and responding with understanding to God’s Word.
The Two Distinct Camps
Verse 12 continues:
Amos 8:12-14 KJV – “They shall wander from sea to sea, from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
Verse 13 and 14 contrasts these who faint from thirst and never rise up with those who wait upon the Lord and will NOT grow weary. It speaks of two different groups: those who wait upon the Lord and those who are caught in a famine of the Word of the LORD.
The Righteous vs. the Wicked
This distinction is drawn further in the Bible, where those who stay faithful to God’s commandments are compared to those who follow the false paths of idolatry and compromise. In Ezekiel 44, we see a division between the righteous priests, sons of Zadok, and the Levites who have gone astray by allowing uncircumcised strangers into the sanctuary. The judgment would be that the polluted Levites would forever carry their shame despite their sins being forgiven, and be forbidden from ministering the fat and the blood to the LORD. That task requiring close proximity to the LORD would be reserved strictly for the Sons of Zadok.
The Importance of Obedience and Repentance
It’s important to note that while God will forgive, there are consequences for disobedience. The righteous, those who are obedient and wait upon the Lord, will experience His presence. They are the ones who will not faint or thirst. But those who compromise, who live in idolatry, will be cut off.
Ezekiel 44:9-14 KJV – Thus saith the Lord God; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them. Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord God, and they shall bear their iniquity. And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed. But I will make them keepers of the charge of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.
Note the 3 categories of people this curse of shame will land upon – 1) Those who do not know God evidenced by their disobedience to His commandments and therefore are strangers 2) Those with uncircumcised in heart 3) Uncircumcised in flesh.
We see the importance of circumcision when Joshua had to circumcise an entire younger generation poised to possess the Promised Land. Their parents who had been taught God’s laws had failed to DO and TEACH God’s commandments to their own children, failing to circumcise them on the 8th day as the Law commanded. They could not proceed into the Promised Land until they had FIRST crossed the Jordan = baptism of repentance, been circumcised with flint, and observed Passover = a sign of covenant. They had to enter into the Abrahamic covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, and the New Covenant that circumcised their hearts to be able to partake of the blessings of each covenant.
Ezekiel 36:25-27 – 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Ezekiel 44: The Righteous Ministers
Ezekiel 44:15-16 states:
Ezekiel 44:15-16 KJV – “But the priests, the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me. They shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God. They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.”
Those who obey God and His commandments will be allowed to enter into His sanctuary and to come near to His table to minister TO the LORD God.
1 John 2:3-4 KJV – And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
They will wear garments of linen and not wool. They shall be clothed with fine linen of the righteous works of the saints and not of the sweat of striving.
Ezekiel 44:17-19 KJV – And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within. They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat. And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.
Rev 19:8 KJV – And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Shaven heads were signs of captive brides and whores. Long locks in men are for only for had taken Nazarite vows that had a beginning and end date of the season of consecration. Here, we see the standard for a priest in lifelong service. Notice that priests on duty are forbidden from drinking alcohol! If we are to be a kingdom of kings and priests, that means we are ALWAYS on duty!
Ezekiel 44:20-22 KJV – Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads. Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court. Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.
1 Cor 11:5-6 KJV But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
Deut 21:10-13 KJV – When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
1 Peter 2:9 KJV – But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
The righteous priests will teach God’s people the difference between the holy and profane in their cultures today, causing them to be able to tell the difference between what is clean and what is unclean. They will cherish God’s laws and statutes in the public assemblies and keep the ALL the sabbaths (weekly, monthly, annually, feast days, 7th year, Jubilee sabbaths) holy.
Ezekiel 44:23-26 KJV – 23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. 24 And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.
The False Prophets
In Ezekiel 13, God condemns the false prophets of Israel. These are prophets who claim to speak on behalf of God but follow their own hearts and speak lies. These false prophets are condemned for misleading God’s people and failing to stand in the gap for Israel.
Ezekiel 13:3-8 KJV – Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The Lord saith it; albeit I have not spoken? Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord God.
These false prophets will NOT get to enter the Promised Land! We see this theme reiterated in Deuteronomy 13, with a more severe warning – lawless prophets, regardless of accuracy or power manifestations, are under the judgment of death.
Deut 13:1-5 KJV – If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Revelation warns us of not tolerating Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess, who seduces God’s servants, but not sons, to commit fornication and adultery. They will end up being consumed by their own vanity and lies.
Ezekiel 13:9-16 KJV– And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God.Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter: Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it; To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.
Rev 2:20-23 KJV – Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Notice the pattern that the false prophets will be declaring peace when there is no peace. We saw this same pattern with Ahab’s prophets prophesying victory while Micaiah warned of destruction, and Jeremiah’s counterparts prophesying peace while Jeremiah warned Jerusalem would be handed over to the Babylonians. They utter smooth deceits that tickle people’s ears instead of the painful reality of chastening due to a rebellious nation.
Ezekiel 13:17-19 KJV – Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
Many prophets thought that the prophetic word about the “Hunter shall become the hunted” had to do with Hunter Biden, and that certainly came to pass, but this verse shows a deeper understanding of that prophesy.
It also warns that they were willing to pollute God’s people in exchange for a pittance of provision. The Canadian government offered church businesses bribes in the form of handouts for those who pushed the COVID-19 mandates of masking, 6’ distancing, no singing, contact tracing, and lockdowns with their church communities.
Ezekiel 13:20-23 KJV – Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly. Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Hang on to that verse right there, because this is the hope and promise of why God is going to do what he’s going to do. He is going to deliver His children out from the daughters of those who SAY they are hearing Gods’ voice but they were actually in compromise, witchcraft, divination, occult soul control. God is going to deliver God’s people out of their hands.
These false prophets will lose their ability to hear and see in the spirit realm while the righteous prophets will continue to hear and see.
Testimony of Submission to Tyrannical Government Then God
There was learning season where God told us to submit to tyrannical government. He was chastening His people through the hands of the wicked, in this case by forcing the mask mandates. He clearly told our family to submit FOR A SEASON. However, when the government stepped outside their God-given boundaries for that chastening season, God gave many dreams and visions to confirm it was now time to obey God rather than man. Many others who heard and obeyed God’s voice all shifted in the same week to refusing to wear masks, confirming this was a corporate shift.
My micropreemie was still under routine follow-up visits to the children’s hospital at that time, so to obey this command would require a miracle to get past the Mask Police to even enter the hospital for her neurosurgeon appointment. I purposed in my heart that I would obey. If God commanded no masks, He would make a way where there seemed to be no way.
Upon arrival, they did NOT honor mask exemptions. They did NOT honor doctor’s notes. I was asking the LORD, “Now what? I’ve obeyed and still being refused. What’s your next instruction?” He told me to flash my Veteran Affairs card without handing it to the man behind the plexiglass, so I did. “Will my military ID do?” The poor guy looked like he was about to faint, stuttering in shock, and walked me to the elevator door without another word to send me up alone.
I walked through that hospital with everyone staring but not daring to confront me. At my daughter’s appointment check-in, they were dumbfounded I had no mask on. When asked how on earth I got in without a mask, I simply said, “I showed them my military ID and they let me in.” No more questions. They immediately escorted me to a private area to wait, visibly shaken.
Prov 28:1 KJV – The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
That was the day for my micro-preemie daughter’s 12-month brain scan to monitor the prior 2 catastrophic strokes and clotted off brainstem that had resulted in her in-utero death. She had been born via C-section already pronounced dead but God had raised her from the dead 2.5 hrs later, already in her body bag, that caused quite the stir! She consistently developed ahead of her biological age peers despite being only 1lb 13oz at birth, completely normal as she lived out of the whole brain in the spiritual realm that had not yet manifested into the earth realm. This time, the report on earth finally caught up with what was in heaven and stated, “Apparently improved. NO evidence of intracranial hemorrhage, NO evidence of focal abnormalities.”
A simple maskless face in the height of COVID lockdowns visibly showed them MY God can make the impossible possible. This increased their ability to believe the miracle of an unseen supernatural brain transplant. That day resulted in the heartfelt repentance and salvation of the neurosurgeon, the reward for resolutely declaring the rhema that no razor shall touch her head of this child that would carry the anointing of Samuel and Samson. Refusing to cower to the medical intimidation and threatened action of my four other children being taken away from an “unfit mother” simply for refusing to let medical staff usurp parental authority in order to do a developmentally, behaviourally, and medically unnecessary brain surgery paid off in the most precious reward – a soul that the angels got to rejoice over! God’s word would perform what He said He would do. God said. Enough said. Don’t argue with Him!
Matt 5:10 KJV – Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
False Prophets in Sheep’s Clothing
Don’t be surprised when you see people who called themselves prophets, well known, well established, supposedly trustworthy accurate prophets dropping dead because they were not obeying God’s commandments. The LORD gave me a rhema warning in the spring of 2021 – “A false prophet is a LawLESS prophet is a dead prophet.” God is going to be against the prophets of Israel, the prophets in the church, because they were walking in divination instead of the true prophetic.
I asked God to confirm this with scripture because honestly, this was scaring me a bit. A Spirit of Fear is NOT from God so He needed to confirm this heavy warning with scripture. This passage in my Bible is titled ‘False Prophets’.
Matt 7:15 – 23 KJV – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
That word ‘iniquity’ can also be translated as ‘lawlessness.’ Those who have thrown God’s laws out the window will find themselves in the camp to which God declares, “Depart from me, I never knew you!”
This coming silence will be a famine of the word of God because the idolatrous priests who thought they could stand before God in their compromising sin will be removed from their position of ministering to the LORD and thrown into spiritual deafness, spiritual blindness, to a depth that is deeper than they have ever known.
There have been seasons where I have allowed ignorant sin into my life. Suddenly, God’s voice shuts off, because He cannot have His face looking upon iniquity. To have such level of intimacy and then suddenly, He turns his face away from you leaves such a deep level of hopelessness, the most awful feeling. I don’t wish that upon anyone and that’s why I am sounding the clarion call to repent NOW before it’s too late.
Separation Between the Righteous and the Wicked
The separation between the righteous and the wicked will be evident. The false prophets, those who deceive and teach lies, will face God’s judgment. Their influence will be shattered, and they will no longer have power over God’s people.
The Window of Repentance
We are in a season where there is still time to repent. The window is closing. There is a short time left for people to recognize they have been in the wrong camp that has tolerated Jezebel’s seduction of God’s servants into fornication and adultery and turn back to God. God is a just God and must judge iniquity, but He provided a window of opportunity of mercy for those who receive the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Don’t delay in possessing that mercy and discover it’s too late!
