A while back I released a word called, “Warriors, get to your anchor points.” For those who did not heed that warning and now are about to get hit broadside by the storm, I heard yet another encouraging instruction. “Rejoice! Don’t fear when you see the ship about to wreck! It’s going to set the captives free and deal a swift blow to the money changers who SAY they are part of My Kingdom but aren’t. The ship structure will be lost but ALL lives will be spared.”
My Bible reading had flipped open to Acts 27 instead of my current journey through the prophets warning about the coming Assyrians as a rod in the hand of the LORD to discipline those who would not lay to heart the prophets’ warnings to repent. The link w the symbolic punishing East Wind leapt out.
Now in Acts, I see another violent storm (translated as “Northeaster storm” in Acts 27:14 AMP). Paul had released the advance warning (Acts 27:9-10) to stay put but it went unheeded because making money to pay their salary and their natural wisdom of the times carried higher value than the prophetic spiritual sight of a worthless slave. (Acts 27:11) They were spiritually blind and were unable to discern who was standing in front of them nor the blessing that had been extended to them that they rejected, perceiving it instead as a curse. After all, how could a lowly slave know better than an experienced shipmaster as themselves??? Alas, pride was to be their downfall.
Isn’t our God so awesome that even in His discipline, His purpose is to redeem LIFE? His conditional promise to Paul was that although the ship would be lost, ALL lives would be spared. Why? Paul needed to complete his prophetic destiny, which required he stay alive. He waited upon the LORD to hear God’s instructions and interceded not only for himself but all the men in the ship and their lives were his reward for declaring the word he heard and holding them accountable to strict obedience. If ALL lives were to be saved, ALL lives had to obey the voice of the LORD. Rebellion would result in only Paul receiving the blessing.
What is the purpose in the storm that caused the shipwreck?
1) Judgment on the deaf ears will hit their wallets, which has a tendency to motivate them to invest in hearing aids.
2) Displaying the distinction between man’s wisdom vs God’s wisdom.
3) Setting the captives free from the structure that held them prisoner.
4) The set-up for revival by demonstrating who carried true authority to display the Kingdom of Heaven.
A word to the apostles.
Although the goddess of Justice may try to land a killing bite, she will fail. Recognize it for what it is – a powerless serpent to be trampled upon by Kingdom Carriers – and move on. It will only position you for achieving your REAL assignment.
