On Feb 25th, 2020 during my Bible reading, Ps 106:30 leapt out – specifically the phrase, “The plague was stayed.” I felt there was a gem to mine here on WHY plagues start and HOW to get them to stop so we can apply the wisdom for our families, communities, and nations. Let’s get digging into what the LORD desires to reveal in order to shush the fearmongering of the media and give you a foundation of HOPE to stand upon.
Ps 106:28-30 – 28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. 29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them. 30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
This specific passage was referring to Numbers 25, after the sorcerer Balaam (the guy with the talking donkey) tried to curse Israel but couldn’t and ended up being a mouthpiece to release God’s blessings instead. Yes, God can use witches to prophesy His blessings when it suits His purposes. Balaam then advised King Balak to seduce the children of God with fornication and intermarriage, a direct disobedience to God’s commandments in the Law of Moses, which would cause God’s covenant to activate the curses listed in Deut 28 and other places in the Book of the Law (Gen – Deut).
This is the “doctrine of Balaam” the church of Pergamos was warned about in Revelation 2, meaning it still needs to be addressed today. The church of Pergamos was also committing the sin of the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which is the religious leaders having power/control over the laity (Nico = power, Laity = common folk), essentially usurping what SHOULD be the power of the Holy Spirit in individual’s lives.
Both these sins are still being committed in the majority of Western Christianity today (and possibly elsewhere), where they teach that God’s commandments are not for today because we have Jesus now, that the baptism of the Holy Spirit isn’t needed “because we already have it at salvation”. If that were so, Jesus and the disciples wouldn’t have needed to follow up with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with power for their disciples! Jesus came to replace the sacrificial system and the location of the temple from a physical building to our bodies, but He never came to change the definition of what constituted as sin, which remains the Law of Moses.
Another aspect that is leaping out from Ps 106:30 is “eating the sacrifices of the dead.” High level Luciferians, Freemasons, Rosicrucian’s, and whatever other branch name those practicing witchcraft fall under, participate in blood sacrifices. A lot of them operate inside of churches because what better cover for a Satanist than to be a church pastor or elder! The atmospheric oppression caused by the witchcraft released by worshiping the god of Tammuz during Lent is felt by a lot of those who have a gift of discernment. The even greater deception is when they BELIEVE they are still Christians when they are mixed up with these practices. Even the elect will be seduced with deception, if that were possible. The Bible clearly warns us about the wolves in sheep clothing and that sorcerers, adulterers, whoremongers, and murderers among others will NOT enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Back at the turn of the Hebrew year (Sept 29, 2019), I released in the Rosh Hashana word that the Freemasons would be dealt a swift blow by the LORD. There are a couple ways to interpret that – either as a sucker punch of judgment OR that the Holy Spirit would blow upon them swiftly causing true repentance. I pray it would be the latter, but I guess it’s up to the individual hearts. The definition for “swift blow” according to Bing comes up as “a swift stroke or blow, with a whip or the like, given as a punishment: “The Heavenly Father will scourge those He loves when they don’t heed the first round of chastening. We are also warned in 1 Cor 5:5 that there will be times to “To deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” Some will die. Others will repent and be welcomed back into fellowship.
The judgment that Phinehas executed, who was or would become the High Priest as a descendant of Aaron, was running a javelin through the fornicating leader of the tribe of Simeon, which stopped the death count of that plague at 24,000 Israelites. A javelin was a distance weapon, not for face-to-face combat like a sword would be used. However, note that Phinehas did not act until AFTER the congregation were weeping in repentance before the LORD for their whoredoms. Jesus Christ is our High Priest today, the one who gets to enter the Holy of Holies within our hearts, the only name and way by which we can access the Heavenly Father.
Why would God allow such a plague of destruction to happen against His own people? If God is a merciful God, why would he even allow plagues in the first place? This is a question many ask. If they don’t understand the nature and character of God, they can easily get bitter at the Most High God when they rebelliously cause their own consequences with their sin. When the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob created us, He gave us a free will to CHOOSE to walk in life or walk in the knowledge of good and evil that would lead to death. A quick perusal through the scriptures shows the pattern that when God’s children rebel, they were judged by drought, famine, pestilence, and plague. When they repented, the judgments turned upon their enemies.
Love cannot be robotized. The Most High God wants to be freely loved, just like He freely loved us while we were yet sinners and chose to pay the penalty of death for us, if we would only accept His free gift of salvation. When God allows judgment to come, it is actually to set us free from what is REALLY holding us in bondage by drawing us back into His embrace, the very embrace we ran away from in the first place.
I saw an old verse in a fresh light through the Passion Translation. I encourage you to read the entirety of Ps 78 in the Passion Translation because there is so much more to digest in there but now let’s focus on vs 43:
Ps 78:43 TPT – 43 They disregarded all the epic signs and marvels they saw
when they escaped from Egypt’s bondage.
They forgot the judgment of the plagues that set them free.
I feel there is an encouragement and a warning in here. It was the judgment of the plague that set the Israelites free from the Egyptians. The encouragement is this current judgment of Coronavirus plague and locust plague is going to set God’s people free in some manner in the near future. But also, a warning not to forget what God has done to their enemies because what set them free could end up causing their own doom when they walk away from Jehovah Rapha (The LORD our Healer) the who saved them out of the hands of their oppressors.
