NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL FIRE – A SIGN & FULFILLMENT of HOSEA 8:14

Shortly before supper on April 15th, 2019, the news byte leapt up on my phone that the Notre Dame Cathedral was on fire. It appeared to be a devastating fire on many fronts – political, cultural, historical, etc. – but what the LORD was highlighting in that particular article was the timing. The fire started AFTER the bronze statues were removed. Then my next logical question was, what are idols doing in a church, anyway? Then I had the spontaneous recollection that idols and idolatrous places of worship were the first things to be destroyed whenever national revival came on the scene. A portend of what is about to spring forth in Paris??? Prophet Kim Clement prophesied that revival in Europe would start in Paris, France and then spread from there. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBt9vlv8xGc) Gina La Morte also prophesied back in 2015 about war in France then to revival. (https://www.facebook.com/111670168988/posts/10154343461658989?sfns=mo)

(**As I was sitting on whether to post this or not over the last 2 weeks, there were other churches that suffered deadly destruction in South Africa, France, Philippines, and Sri Lanka. A consistency that was highlighted between all the pictures of devastation I saw was the presence of idols.)

God clearly declares in His Word, Exodus 20:2-6 – “2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Leviticus 26:30 – 30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

1 Kings 12:32 (KJV) – And Jeroboam … placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made. (See previous blog on the sins of Jeroboam which still exist today)

Malachi 3: Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a REFINER’S FIRE, and like fullers’ soap: 3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. 4 THEN shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. 6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Just a point to ponder – purging means removing the bad stuff, which means there is bad stuff present in the first place to require purging. Unfortunately, the good has to endure the painful heat that will remove the bad. Since we are to be an offering of righteousness, that means the unrighteousness is what needs to be purged. You find out the practical standards for righteousness contained within the Law of Moses. Simply saying, “Jesus is our righteousness” does not remove from us the responsibility to line up with God’s commandments. Jesus himself preached, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” Believing Jesus absolves us from all responsibility of obedience is dangerous and loosy-goosy theology because Hebrews 10 warns us that those who trample upon the blood of His covenant will have no further sacrifice for sin but a fearful expectation of judgment. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God! We are also told to LOVE God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, which requires we voluntarily obey His commandments (John 14:15).

The week before the Notre Dame Cathedral Fire, the LORD directed us to switch gears and start reading through Hosea. The prophet Hosea, the prophet of doom, was to Northern Israel (Samaria) as Jeremiah was to the Southern Kingdom. Jeremiah is most commonly known as the weeping prophet that prophesied judgment to God’s chosen people because of their idolatry. Monday, the day of the fire, we happened to be in chapter 8.

Hosea 8:14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof. (**Read the entirety of Hosea to understand why God is having us studying Hosea NOW.)

One of the Notre Dame fire picture captions declared, “Smoke rises in front of the altar cross at Notre Dame Cathedral after a fire engulfed the building.” A picture the following day showed light pouring down though the gaping ceiling with all the rubble piled in front of the altar that graced a statue of a lady holding a prostrate man and 2 black-stone angels in the background.

As I was pondering what God wanted to point out to me through this tragedy, here are some tidbits that stood out from the news on the Notre Dame fire although I don’t understand the significance of them all:

– Notre Dame Cathedral is in Paris, France, built on an island in the middle of the River Seine, a 777km river. The Cathedral’s name, the name of the supposed symbol of Christianity, means “Our Lady of Paris.” (**Isn’t Christianity supposed to be about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, His son whom He sent, not the queen of heaven?)

– The fire started at the beginning of the Catholic Easter week. (God’s Passover as per Biblical commandment was a week later, starting the evening of April 19th then into Feast of Unleavened Bread x 7 days)

– It was DECREED at the time of building that the church sanctuary had to be higher than any other in history.

– Its foundation stone was laid in 1163 by Pope Alexander III, and the cathedral was completed in the 13th century.

– Oct 1793, statues of the Kings of Judea were pulled down and beheaded via guillotine, with the zealousness of Saul.

– Henry the 6th was crowned king in the sanctuary.

– Deacons being ordained laid prostrate row upon row in their white garments on the floor before the pope (picture from 1938)

– Gargoyles and carvings of demonic-looking birds grace the cathedral exterior – (cleverly disguised rain spouts to direct water away from the roof). The architectural décor was done in “the gothic spirit.” The Gothic style flourished because the Capetian Kings and their bishops wished to build new cathedrals as monuments of their power, wealth, and religious faith, centralizing power away from the feudal abbots and monasteries. The statues and carvings were explained away as illustrations of Bible stories for the illiterate common folk.

– The Notre Dame Cathedral is a place where numerous, priceless relics and artworks are kept, such as the Crown of Thorns. (**Biblical relics that led Israelites into idolatry – Moses’ bronze snake on a stick and Gideon’s Ephod).

– In 2017, fallen stones littered its roof. (note previous blogs of what happened in 2017; *Edit note – Isaiah 9:10)

– The 16 bronze statues of the 12 apostles and the 4 evangelists were airlifted off the spire in a single day, the same spire that burned upon their departure days later. The statues shown in the pictures were surprisingly headless. There was also a picture of 2 winged angel statues that were removed. The bronze statues were to be returned to the cathedral 2 by 2 after they were restored.

-The spire and roof of an “iconic symbol of Christianity” collapsed under the fire while the apostles and evangelists were conveniently absent, who as such, were spared devouring fires. The two towers currently still remain standing as of this writing, with the level of damage unknown.

– It took 400 firefighters to get the fire under control.

– The Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem (also known as Solomon’s Stables – built in violation of God’s commandments – Deut 17:16) was on fire at the very same time as the Notre Dame Cathedral, just that it didn’t garner nearly as much media attention. (Later that week, a tiny newsbyte showed that 12 other French catholic churches suffered destruction to various degrees the same week but I didn’t see anything mentioned in the main media.)

Knowing God highlights various natural things as object lessons of spiritual truths, my meditation on the significance of high places was led to the great grandson of Jezebel and grandson of Athaliah. Queen Athaliah murdered all her grandchildren that qualified as royal heirs in line to be King of Judah (or so she thought) in order to possess the throne as queen. Jehoash was successfully hidden during the slaughter of her own flesh and blood and was crowned king when he was 7 years old. You can read it in 2 Kings 11 & 12. 9

Jot notes of things that leapt out:

2 Kings 11

– Vs. 4 – Jehoiada, the high priest that established 7 yr old Jehoash as a King of Judah. Jehoiada means, “The LORD knows.” Jehoash means, “Given by the LORD.”

o Connection: The statues of the Kings of Judah were beheaded. Jehoash, a king of Judah, was supposed to be killed but God hid him for such a time as then. The LORD knows the secrets of the heart and will judge everyone accordingly. (**Edit note: Is it possible that the ones to rise up and reign will be the ones who escaped abortion plans/attempts, others like me?? My mother was advised to abort me after an ultrasound showed catastrophic birth defects that were not consistent with life outside the womb. She chose to let God be the judge of that and here I am today, completely whole.)

– Vs. 5-11 The presentation and crowning of Jehoash as the legitimate royal heir coincided with the changing of the guard on the Sabbath.

o The timing of entering into what the local prophets have been calling the Kingdom era also happens to be around the beginning of the 7th millennia (as per Biblical chronological history). (**Edit note: As I upload this onto my website, I just saw a play on words for “crowning.” Looking back at a calendar, my crowning before imminent birth happened on Sunday morning. God has a sense of humor! =8-o)

– Vs 12 – The “king’s son” was brought out, crowned and handed the testimony (the Covenant & Law of Moses), confirming him to be rightful heir to the throne.

o God will confirm his rightful heirs, His sons who manifest the evidence of the Covenant by giving them a crown of glory. Spiritually or literally visible, I do not know.

– Vs 14 – Athalia screamed, “Treason! Treason!” before she was executed.

o Sense that there’s going to be a connection during President Trump’s term and the cry of treason before an execution of a female who raised (or will raise) herself up without rightful authority and we will hear those words on the news.

– Vs.17 -18 – The country leader and people covenant themselves to the LORD then tear down the temple of Baal.

o Watch the temple of Baal that was built in New York City. Also note that the infanticide abortion bill came into being after Baal’s altar was built, giving the Kingdom of Darkness new territorial power through the fresh supply of blood sacrifices.

– Vs. 20 – Athaliah was slain with the sword in the King’s house.

o The spirit of Athaliah will be exposed and demolished as the word of the LORD returns with accuracy and revelation understanding through the arising prophetic evangelists.

Nothing leapt out from chapter 12 at this time that related to this beyond the significance of Jehoash being responsible for instigating the repairing of the temple AFTER the execution.

Haggai 1 shows that until the house of the LORD is built, the spirit of poverty (purse full of holes) will have legal right to reign. We are to be the temple of the Living God. Time to get building!
