When we are so starved for love, we’ll take anything that gives even the appearance of love. That’s why so many girls end up in the arms of another man because they’re starving for affection and love that their fathers never gave them, or that their wounded hearts couldn’t open to receive.
Flip that into the church system. Those whose broken hearts are so starved for true love that they haven’t opened their hearts to receive, they will also be much easier to deceive.
Brings a whole new meaning to 1 Thessalonians 5:22 – “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
