What is Rosh Chodesh?
In Hebrew, Rosh Chodesh means, literally, “head of the month” or “first of the month.” The KJV bible refers to this as “New Moon”, when the first sliver of the new moon would be seen in the night sky. It was a night of watching and celebration. It is symbolic of intentionally watching and waiting for the coming of our Messiah, Jesus Christ, the light of the world. The following day would be a day of celebration and sounding the shofar.

What does observing God’s calendar have to do with THIS prophetic season (5778/2018)?
– New cycle of reformation (500 yrs since Martin Luther’s reformation)
– Year themes: Fear of the LORD, Holiness & Righteousness with correction, Glory, Firstfruits, The gate/door, and the eye to see. Isaiah 45- Cyrus anointing.
– Season of increased intimacy with the LORD
– New wave of healing revival, unlike those in the past – the Deuteronomy 7 healing revival.
– The Kingdom Era is emerging. The Children of Israel are to be a kingdom of priests, a holy nation (Ex 19:6
– Million or Billion soul harvest that would come after Bob Jones death. His question before his final death (resurrected a few times) was “Have you learned to love?” Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
Now, keeping in mind the prophetic themes, what does Scripture say about the “New Moon”?
– 1 Sam 20:4 – 24 King Saul & David celebrated New Moon on regular occasion.
– 2 Kings 4:23 – Shunnamite woman, who built an addition for Elisha, honored New Moon & Sabbath that was led by the prophet
- Shumen was allotted to the tribe of Issachar, which knew the times.
- 1 Chronicles 12:32 – And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
– 1 Chron 23:24-32 – The Levites were responsible to assist with the burnt offerings on appointed times, and serve in the LORD’s presence at all times, faithfully carrying out their duties of service at the house of the LORD.

– 2 Chron 2:4 – Israel is commanded to observe sabbaths, new moons, and appointed feasts FOREVER.
- John 8:34-47- Children of Israel = child of promise/covenant. Not all people who call their father Abraham are children of promise. He had 8 sons, but only 1 Isaac. Children of Abraham DO the works of Abraham = obey God’s voice. Abraham was also known for intimacy & friendship with God.
- Romans 11:11 -end – Gentiles grafted into the Jews, NOT replacing the Jews, because Jews disobeyed & did not believe but when the fulness of Gentiles comes, all Israel will be saved (vs 26)
- Isaiah 58:6-end – IF we do these things, we will we will ride upon the high places and feed on the heritage of Jacob.
– 2 Chron 8:12-13 – King Solomon, the wisest man in the world and who built the temple, observed God’s calendar
– Isaiah 1:13-14 – Isaiah warns King Hezekiah that God hated his religious exercises without obedience
– 2 Chron 30-31 – King Hezekiah turned Israel back to the LORD and His law, re-instituted the feasts, and tore down the pagan altars. Returning to God’s calendar is directly related to true revival and healing (2 Chron 30:18-20, Cross ref: Ex 23:24-25, Deut 7:12,15) !!!
– Ezra 3:5 – King Cyrus provided financial provision for the return of the remnant from Babylon to Jerusalem who STARTED to rebuild the temple and the priests re-instituted God’s calendar. Due to intimidation and persecution, they ceased until the 2nd year of Darius’s reign. Ezra, a scribe, had God’s favor on him and was tasked with teaching people the law to those didn’t know it, and judging those who did.
– Nehemiah 9-10 – The seed of Israel separated themselves, confessed their sins, and returned to God’s commandments and God’s calendar.
– Ezekiel 45:17-18; Ez 46 – The prince will observe the offerings and God’s appointed times. This prophecy as yet to be fulfilled as per most commentators. The common people will also bow down and worship the LORD.
– Hosea 2:11 – Judgment upon the adulterous seed of Israel who turned to Baal is to have God’s appointed times removed. So for them to be returning = blessing is coming back!
- Modern day Baal worship is in almost every home = viewing sexual perversion in our media and culture. We’ve become so desensitized we think a lot of media is “normal” but would have caused our grandparents’ eyeballs to pop out!
- Dancing around the Asherah pole today is similar to the “Gentleman’s Clubs” with their poles, which are very common in Niagara Falls.
- The children were sacrificed on the altar of sex and success = birth control & abortion, Feminism movement.

– Colossians 2:16 – Do not judge (condemn) others who don’t observe God’s calendar, putting yourself at risk of religious pride and “holier than thou” attitudes.
- Acts 15:16-21 – God will return and rebuild the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down and build again the ruins thereof, that the remnant might seek after the LORD. They are accepted with the INITIAL 4 abstentions: 1) Pollution of idols 2) Fornication 3) things strangled. 4) Blood. Then Paul goes on to say that those gentiles would learn God’s laws over time through weekly sabbath services.
- Isaiah 42 – God is going to start opening the blind eyes and lead them in new paths they did not know.
- 1 Cor 3:14-16 – God will be removing the heart & mind veil that blocks understanding of the reading of Moses as people turn their hearts to the Lord.
- Malachi 4:4 – 6 – 4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
