Video link for this lesson: Exposing Jezebel’s Fornication
Today’s lesson is exposing Jezebel’s fornication. We read things in the Bible and often give a nod of religious ascent without truly understanding what it’s talking about. We can’t repent of what we do not understand. Proverbs 4:5 says, “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.” And how do we get understanding? Psalm 119:104 tells us. “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.”
So let’s unpack Revelation 2:20-23 KJV.
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a PROPHETESS, to teach and to seduce my SERVANTS to commit FORNICATION, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of HER FORNICATION; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit ADULTERY with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Prophetess
– A prophet is one who God has called to be His messenger, His voice crying in the wilderness.
– A person with a stronghold of Jezebel will call HERSELF a prophetess, not that God had anointed or called her to be one. (**technically, men can be under a stronghold of Jezebel too, just like men can be the bride of Christ.)
– Deut 13:1-4 shows us that the mark of a false prophet is not the absence of power but rather the absence of obedience to God’s commandments.
Servants – not friends, not sons = no inheritance.
John 15:14-15 – 14You are My friends IF YOU DO WHAT I COMMAND YOU. 15No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.
– We are to be the bride of Christ and Jesus Christ is our bridegroom. The marriage covenant is used to represent the intimate relationship we are to have with Jesus Christ.
– Virgin sex will break the hymen, resulting in the shedding of blood to seal the marriage covenant, just like Jesus shed His blood for us to enter into covenant with our Heavenly Father.
Fornication:
– Having sex/marital intimacy where you give your heart and body to another BEFORE you enter into a marriage covenant.
– Jezebel was never in covenant with the LORD.
– Spiritual fornication is having the pleasures of Jesus that are God-ordained in the right time, but a problem when possessed without entering into and submitting to the boundaries of God’s covenant with His people.
Adultery:
– Having marital intimacy with someone other than your spouse AFTER you have entered into a marriage covenant.
– It is having intimacy with another outside the boundaries of the marriage relationship.
– Spiritual adultery is entering into covenant with the LORD but then walking in disobedience and violating those God-given boundaries in order to please our flesh.
Sexual sin is a sin against yourself.
– 1 Cor 6:18-19 – Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
– When you actively sin against yourself, it exposes the reality that you do not love yourself and in turn you are not truly loving your neighbor nor your Heavenly Father.
What makes the children of God different than others?
– God’s presence that comes with being in covenant with Him.
– Exodus 33:13 – 16 – 13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
– Hosea 1:9 – 9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God. (**God’s people are those who declare God to be THEIR God by their actions.)
Rhema – The glory of the LORD cannot light upon those who lack the foundational fear of the LORD.
– God is a consuming fire and it destroys chaff, wood, stubble, and hay. God’s glory falling upon His enemies and His disobedient children always resulted in death. God’s glory falling upon His children in covenant brought victory.
The stronghold of Jezebel will always be connected a spirit of rebellion and witchcraft.
– 1 Samuel 15:23 – 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
– Matthew 6:10 – 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
– King Saul still had his earthly kingdom till he physically died but he no longer had the Kingdom of Heaven manifesting. The Kingdom of heaven transferred to David.
– This passage is spoken to a man anointed by God and by His chosen prophet Samuel to be king. The Israelites rejected God that they couldn’t physically see and hear and coveted a visible king, just like the other nations around them had. King Saul was a man who used the fear of men and blaming his subordinates (victim mindset) as an excuse to mask his own rebellious & stubborn heart that did not fear the LORD. He did not obey God’s commandments and as such did not see victory over his enemies. He was constantly at war with the Philistines instead of conquering them. He did not fulfill his prophetic destiny. It was young David, who walked in obedience and the Fear of the LORD, that killed the giant Goliath, not King Saul.
So what is the solution? The solution is to truly KNOW God and receive eternal life, which requires obeying God’s commandments.
– John 17:3 – And this is life eternal, that they might KNOW thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
– Matt 7:21-23 – 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
– 1 John 2:3-5 – 3 And hereby we do know that we KNOW him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
– You are able to prophesy, cast out devils, and do miracles IN THE NAME OF JESUS and not have eternal life nor access to the Kingdom of Heaven if you chose to walk in disobedience to God’s commandments. Manifesting power in your life is not the be all and end all. Saying a cute little “repeat after me” salvation prayer in Sunday School will not give you eternal life. Intimately knowing your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that he sent is what will give you eternal life.
There are people who BELIEVE they have eternal life but don’t because they do not love the Truth, Jesus the Word, and in turn are handed over to a strong delusion that will lead them straight to the pit of hell as they enjoys the pleasures of disobeying God’s commandments.
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 – 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the LOVE of THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 10:10 – 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
