Jesus is Jehovah, the one who gave Moses the Law (The Law Thru the Eyes of Jesus Series)

Video link for these notes:  Jesus is Jehovah, who gave Moses the Law

One of the most common arguments I’ve heard since sharing what the LORD has been teaching me about His commandments is that we only need to pay attention to the “New Testament Commandments” and forget about anything in the Old Testament because that has been “done away with by Jesus.”  Today I’m going to expose that as the teaching of Jezebel that we are not to tolerate as per Revelations 2. I’ll show you in scripture how Jesus is Jehovah come in the flesh and how it was Jehovah that gave the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai, and it was Jehovah, Jesus the Word, that Moses spoke with face to face.  It was this revelation several years ago that demolished the foundations for a religious spirit and completely transformed the way I understood the scriptures.

Let’s start with Matthew 3:1-12

–          In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet [Isaiah], saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD. MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT. 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The word “LORD” in Matthew 3:3 is “Kyrios” in the Greek, which is clearly referring to Jesus as you continue to read through chapter 3. The definition of Kyrios is “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord” this title is given to: God, the Messiah.”

In Matt 3:3, John the Baptist was quoting Isaiah 40:3:

–          The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God

The word “LORD” here in the Hebrew is Jehovah, therefore we know in the simplest form that Jesus is Jehovah come in the flesh. But let’s go deeper.

We are able to test the spirits and identify false prophets by whether we believe that Jesus is God come in the flesh as per 1 John 4:1-6

–          1 John 4:1-8 – Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

** We also know from Deut 13:1-4 that the sign of a false prophet is that he does not obey God’s commandments and leads others away from God’s commandments also.

In previous lessons, I showed that we know we know God if we obey his commandments (1 John 2:3). We also have proof we love God by the evidence of obedience to His commandments. (John 14:15)

Most Christians who grew up in Sunday school would have memorized John 1:1 but were they given understanding to what they were quoting?

–          John 1:1, 14-15 – 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

So, we know that Jesus Christ is not only God come in the flesh, but he was also the Word come in the flesh. And we know that Jesus in the flesh was without sin. What is the absence of sin? Obedience to the God’s commandments.

Now let’s hop back to where God is talking to Moses on mount Sinai and receives God’s commandments, which is later referred to as the Law of Moses.

–          Exodus 19:3 – 6 – 3 And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

This sounds familiar to some because both Paul and Peter quoted it in the New Testament.

–          Titus 2:14 – Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
–           1 Peter 2:9 – But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

As God and the LORD meet with Moses up on the mountain, God there is the Hebrew word ‘Elohim.  LORD is Jehovah. This explains the conundrum in Exodus 33 where in verse 11, it says Moses spoke face to face with the LORD and then later in verse 20, it says he couldn’t see His face and live.

Since we already see 2 of the Godhead, let’s identify the 3rd – the Holy Spirit as the Finger of God that wrote the word of the LORD onto the tablets of stone and later upon our hearts as we are born again.

–          Deut 9:10 – And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

–          2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV – 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Some of you may feel a sense of recognition from the phrase of the “Finger of God”. It’s because Jesus referenced it in Luke 11:20 –

–          Luke 11:20 – But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

This is why those who obey God’s commandments because the Holy Spirit has written them upon their hearts will be great in the Kingdom of God as per Matt 5:19

The “New Covenant,” which is actually in the Old Testament, gives clarification here that the Finger of God is the Holy Spirit.

–          Ezekiel 36:26-27 – A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

–          Jer 31:33 – But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their

inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And it is obedience to the word of the LORD that circumcises our hearts as we obey God’s commandments.

–         Deut 30:2-3,6 – 2 And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul 3 That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee. …6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Now that you’ve seen all those scriptures, you will see the next verse in a fresh new light.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 – 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, and bringing into captivity every thought to the OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when YOUR obedience is fulfilled.

If this revelation is shaking you to the core like it did me, I want to warn you to have grace for your leaders that have led you astray as they convinced you to ignore God’s law.  Do not allow this revelation to make you bitter because it will make the transition process longer and more painful. Rather, when your eyes have been opened, provide them with the resources that opened your own eyes then back off, allowing the Holy Spirit to do His work.

In Proverbs, we are told about 4 kinds of children. The simple, the wise, the foolish, and the scorner/mockers. Many church leaders and pastors are simply simple. They are like young children who haven’t been taught to read nor understand what they’re reading. It’s not that they’re rebellious or unteachable, just that there hasn’t been anyone to teach them God’s commandments and the fear of the LORD. God will simply be demoting them back to the position of student under good shepherds that will feed them with knowledge and understanding until they are ready to be a good shepherd themselves. (Jer 3:15)

The devil knows that if he poisons the wellheads, which in this case would primarily be the bible colleges, it will continue to poison not only all the pastors graduating but every family that drinks from their poisoned spiritual well. And he’s not going to broadcast his poison or else people would be wise enough to stop drinking there. That’s why it’s called occultism – it’s hidden.

The wise ones are those who have developed the Fear of the LORD by learning and walking in God’s commandments. The wise are disciplined with a verbal rebuke because they can HEAR God’s voice. Walk with the wise and grow wise but a companion of fools suffer harm. The blind leading the blind will result in both falling into a pit.

A fool is one who is unteachable, one who hates knowledge and understanding and is full of pride. They reject God’s commandments and the Fear of the LORD, declaring the Law of God to be a bad thing. They walk in stubbornness and rebellion, and as such the rod is for the backs of fools.

A mocker and scorner takes their foolishness to brazen levels by inciting those around them to join in their demise.

We are on the cusp of the judgment of God removing the glory of the fools and scorners that have led God’s people in a rebellion against Him.

The last 2 days, the LORD led me on a bunny trail discovery of the Torah Parashat reading for today (June 29th) in Israel and July 6th in the Diaspora, which is Parashat Korach. Numbers 16-18 in a nutshell contains the rebellion of Korah against Moses & Aaron and how God supernaturally snuffed out that rebellion with a sinkhole, God supernaturally confirming His anointed authority with Aaron’s budding rod, and provision for the true priests. Korach means baldness, ice, frost. Then the LORD led me to the related verb – Karach – to make bald, to shear (as in shearing a sheep), to uproot.

Back on Dec 31st, the LORD had me release a prophetic warning that the LORD Himself would be removing the glory of his Bride who refused to repent of their adultery and fornications, both literal and spiritual. What I hadn’t mentioned previously is that someone new showed up at our glory party that night, much to his surprise to witness my head being shaved by my husband in a prophetic act. His name was “Ash.” Someone else also showed up with items in cloth sacks.  I believe the LORD highlighting this fascinating bunny trail is to give us a timer to this critical tipping point as we move into the last 6 months of the year.

I had planned originally to release this teaching during naptime but felt the Holy Spirit say wait. During the afternoon and evening, there were 2 more confirmations.

1)      Today as I was driving down the road, the LORD highlighted a huge tree on a busy intersection being professionally pruned. It stood out so much so, that I did a second pass by it then felt prompted to go take a picture of it. The first pass, it was just a huge tree maybe 50 ft tall appearing to be pruned.  The second pass, all limbs had been removed with a huge trunk remaining. By the 3rd pass on foot with my camera, it was now just a tall stump.  Now visible behind it was a sign, “Captive Escape Rooms.”  The tree had to be taken down drastically in size in order to expose the hidden captives that were waiting to be set free.

o   Psalm 68:18 – Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.

o   Is 61:1-4 – The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the CAPTIVES, and the OPENING OF THE PRISON to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the DAY OF VENGEANCE of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. 4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

2)      During prayer time, my daughter’s tablet suddenly popped up a picture of a shovel decorated in a rainbow. A glory shovel!

We are about to see God’s glory fall unlike ever before BUT it won’t be all kicks and jollies like we sing about in “Shekinah Glory, come!” It will bring mourning as it exposes those who mocked His glory through their unrepentant rebellion. God’s hand will uproot them supernaturally.
