February 3rd, 2023 while I was teaching my littles to read, we were going through 1 Corinthians 11. Children have the greatest questions from such innocent perspectives! If angels are spiritual beings, why would a woman need a physical covering on her head to prove her authority and power to angels? Do the angels treat the wiccan witch walking down the sidewalk with a hoody over her head the same as a Mennonite woman with her white kerchief? Or were they responding to a SPIRITUAL covering that the ANGELS can see but blind spiritual eyes of humans cannot see? The insight from a child not raised “in the church” caused me to dive deeper. I had a download that brought fresh understanding to the topic of head coverings.
I was raised in religious circles where cloth head coverings were NOT used, and then shifted to groups where they WERE used, then back out again to groups that didn’t. I didn’t cover, then did cover, then didn’t cover while yet BEING covered. Then Dec 31, 2018, God gave instruction that was obeyed for my husband to shave my head publicly as a prophetic warning to the corporate church that the LORD Himself would remove the glory of his bride that refused to repent of her adultery and fornication, for the glory of the LORD cannot light upon those who lack the foundational fear of the LORD.
Ironically, it was during a season I was at a non-covering Baptist-like church that the LORD instructed me to begin wearing a physical head covering and to remove all jewelry and make-up. I was accused of joining a cult, of going off the deep end, of being deceived and threatened with being Form 1’ed by the pastor for “listening to voices” (which is a way to forcibly lock someone up in a mental asylum for a minimum 72 hrs) and have our children taken by the local children’s aid society for being an unfit mother.
Despite all those empty threats of intimidation (aka Jezebellic witchcraft!), I obeyed with my husbands blessing when I showed him my research in the scriptures even though he didn’t agree with my conclusion. He knew my heart’s motive was to obey my God, even if it cost me everything. He trusted God would iron out the misunderstanding in due time and would protect us during that walk-out process. That journey proved to be a fruitful pruning and growth season where I discovered just how much vanity and pride I had in my outward appearance at the neglect of my inward spiritual beauty. It exposed just how unsubmissive I was as a wife and as a daughter of God. Decades of ritual abuse had developed a Jezebel stronghold in my soul that needed to be confronted and dismantled. Submission is a HEART attitude contrasted with obedience that is an outward visible action. It’s possible to obey without submitting joyfully.
As I watched my husband stand up to protect me and my family from the severe persecution that head covering brought upon our family – a head covering he didn’t believe in personally but he believed in ME, deep wounds of abandonment and neglect were being healed. While both our parents became estranged for a time over my “cultish behaviour,” my husband grew closer to me because he could see my passion to draw closer to the LORD, no matter how much conditional fickle love was rapidly withdrawn and replaced with extreme rejection and a spirit of religion-fueled hatred over a mere piece of cloth. He was witnessing his very wounded, bitter, and controlling wife transform into a kinder, humbler, & stronger woman. Our parents later repented as they watched the fruit that choice bore in our entire family and later went onto bear more fruit in their own spiritual lives. A new level of trust was birthed in our marriage that allowed me to lay down the idol of self-protection. Our marriage developed intimacy that had never been present before because I could finally open my heart enough to someone to receive the love and safety I had controlled everything in my life to attempt to gain yet in reality blocked from ever receiving. In that process, I was able to open up my heart to the LORD that brought a transformation on all fronts as He circumcised my heart and poured in the Father’s Love. Deuteronomy 30 proved true. When we repent and return to obeying His commandments, THEN He will lovingly and gently circumcise our hearts of all those hardened areas.
After several years, the LORD gave instruction that it was time to unwrap my cloth covering and cut my now very LONG hair up to my shoulders, as a prophetic act of Isaiah 22:22. I was horrified, questioning this time if I was listening to demons! The LORD affirmed that I had finally learned to submit to His voice and His authority over my life without resistance, and truly learned how to rest in the shelter of His wing. I no longer needed a visible reminder now that I had learned to submit under the spiritual covering of my husband and my Bridegroom Jesus Christ, as had my husband throughout this journey. My husband calmly said, “I was wondering when that would eventually happen. Proceed with removing your head covering.” Our path forward was confirmed externally by Dutch Sheets of all people as someone sent me a video of his out of the blue that showed how people kept giving him keys with Isaiah 22:22 either written on them or the verse shared with the keys. It was doubly confirmed when I went for the haircut and shared many healing testimonies while in the barber’s chair and the haircut ended up being free. She later reached out to confirm that her husband had been healed of cancer after that haircut as they took my testimonies to heart and repented of their own unsubmissive hearts, shifting out of the curse of Deut 28:15, 27 where LORD will afflict those who DON’T hear AND obey Him with boils, TUMORS (cancer), scurvy & the itch from which you cannot be cured.
We went through another season of church persecution as we were accused of “walking away from our faith” and “backsliding” but this time, the accusations of Pharisees rolled off like water on a duck’s back because I no longer cared about pleasing people but pleasing my God that I had come to only seek and cherish His approval. (Romans 2:29).
It was shortly after this that the LORD gave me instruction to step out of the church system and stay at home, again with my husband’s blessing, and no longer attend a church BUILDING. He was removing me from the covering that was not of His spirit that brings woe upon the rebellious. (Isaiah 30:1) We continued to fellowship with other believers in our homes, parks, restaurants, vehicles, and any other location believers happened to rub shoulders. During that period of 5 years, the LORD systematically detoxed me from traditions of men that I had erroneously come to believe were REQUIRED to have a relationship with Him. It was a very uncomfortable season of stripping but liberating at the same time to not have to carry all that religious baggage in order to be “accepted by God” and my relationship with Him skyrocketed.
Jump forward to this past February 3rd when I received this new insight to the scriptures of 1 Corinthians 11 that the spirit of religion had hidden all this time. Religious circles have taught or argued for years that this passage relates to covering a woman’s head with a cloth doily or kerchief yet the scripture clearly points out its own definition of head that was to be covered = a PERSON, not a physical hair covered cranium! Some churches have fought over this issue so severely they have ex-communicated believers and condemned them to hell just because a burnt out frazzled mom slipped out to a grocery store forgetting her head covering, unleashing such a severe assault of charismatic witchcraft from the church leaders upon her where she almost died and her family’s finances were crushed into poverty as those curses manifested.
1 Cor 11:2-10 KJV – 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ORDINANCES, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the HEAD of every man is Christ; and the HEAD of the woman is the man; and the HEAD of Christ is God. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
Let’s unpack this passage further.
According to common religious church belief, it is disgraceful for a woman to have short hair and for a man to have long hair, since a woman’s “hair” is her glory and therefore must remain long while a man must remain short. If anyone thinks this thinking is old fashioned, simply try walking into a church meeting with the wrong hair length and one will receive quite a few gasps and dirty looks. However, that religious logic does not stand up to a study of the scriptures. If long hair in a man was so disgraceful to God, why would Samson’s lengthy Nazarite locks be a sign of his authority? Why would his obedience to God’s commandment to keep his hair long be his conditional source of his supernatural strength? God is not sadistic or cruel like many religious folk would have you believe! Why would the scriptures mention that Absalom’s long hair weighed 200 shekels and was a source of pride, not humiliation? Why would God ask those who obey a Nazarite vow to grow their hair out long as a sign of consecration to Him if He viewed long hair in men with such horror and condemnation as the church does? Aren’t we supposed to love what God loves and hate what God hates?
Now shift to the fact that the source of power/authority covering a woman’s head was considered her beauty. In 1 Cor 11, it clearly talks about heads being PEOPLE. God is the head of Christ. Christ is the head of man. Man the head of woman. Then it says women should be covering their head during prayer and prophesying. Therefore, context dictates that a woman should cover her husband during prayer and prophesying. A wise woman will build up her own house (Prov 14:1) and she can release life out of her tongue and eat the fruit thereof. The Strongs Concordance defines “head” here as:
G2776 – Kephale (from the root word primary kapto in the sense of seizing) the head as part most readily taken hold of, literally or figuratively. (a) the head, (b) met: a corner stone, uniting two walls; head, ruler, lord. Metaphorically, anything supreme, chief, prominent; of persons, master, lord
Kapto = catch, prey, seizure. (*Remember this definition because this is what the Jezebel Stronghold tries to do to men’s authority!)
Eph 5:23 KJV– For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
I dare you to try balancing a doily on THAT head!
Now, let’s go back to the previous scripture passage and insert the Greek words.
1 Cor 11:4 NKJV – Every man praying or prophesying having his head (kephale) covered (kata) dishohonoreth (kataischyno) his (autos) head (kephale).
Covered = kata (*preposition, primary particle)
- Vine’s Expository Dictionary = apart, according to one’s own, privately, in as much, manner according to.
- Strong’s Concordance G2596 – down from, through out, according to, toward, along.
- Thayer’s Greek Lexicon G2596 – a preposition denoting motion or diffusion or direction from the higher to the lower; so that it flowed down from his head; reaching down into the depth: ie. Deep or extreme poverty; after verbs of swearing, adjuring (the hand being as it were placed down upon the thing sworn by)
Dishonoreth = G2617 – Kataischyno = to disgrace, humiliate, to disfigure, move down with shame.
Now put those expanded meanings back into 1 Corithians 11:4 for Julia’s translation:
1 Cor 11:4 rewritten: Every man praying or prophesying having HIS head, which is Christ, apart / pushed down disgraces and humiliates his OWN head, which is his wife, leaving her feeling humiliated/disgraced/disfigured/ moved down by a spirit of shame.
A husband that lacks intimacy and reverential awe that elevates Christ in his own life will bring shame upon the wife and conversely his children. Now it makes much more sense WHY a Jezebel stronghold of shame/fear/control has plagued the corporate church!
But’ let’s continue onto verse 5.
1 Cor 11:5 KJV – But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonorerth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
Paul was talking to an audience that knew the scriptures of the Old Testament so they would have readily drawn the correlation here to the fact that a captive bride had to have her head shaven.
Deut 21:10-14 KJV – 10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them CAPTIVE, 11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; 12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and SHE SHALL SHAVE HER HEAD, and pare her nails; 13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife. 14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, BECAUSE THOU HAST HUMBLED HER.
That word “humbled” is translated as “violated” in other Bible translations. “Violated her” is translated as “ ‘anah”, found in 2 Sam 13:11-14 with Amnon & Tamar. It means to rape her.
Now plug that ah-ha back into that scripture above.
A man who is not covered by Christ is spiritually raping his wife, resulting in her shameful humiliation by default of all the curses within the scriptures, especially Deuteronomy 28, landing upon them. When a man joins his wife, two shall become one flesh. That leads to a broken heart that makes women so prone to sickness, especially from the landing pad of an unloving spirit.
We have a culture of sexual perversion that has become “normal” over the last 50 years since the Bible has been removed from public schools, abortion and homosexuality was legalized in America and Canada, and the US dollar was removed form the gold standard and the Federal Reserve created fiat currency, resulting in a whole generation of men spiritually violating their wives. Jim Staley from Passion for Truth Ministries points out within the last couple of years, porn use within church men has skyrocketed to 85%. As in the spirit realm, so it manifests in the natural. If you look back at medical stats, you’ll notice that autoimmune disorders and predominantly female disorders that manifest when an unloving spirit is present have skyrocketed along the same chronological trajectory.
1 Cor 11:6 KJV – If the woman be not covered (*by her husband’s intimacy of covenant with Christ), let her also be shorn (*treated like a raped captive) but if it be a shame (*filthy, base, venal) for a woman to be shorn or shaven (*the master shearing the sheep, being done TO her, not by her own choice), let her be covered(*covered wholly, not partially).
Venal =
- Capable of being bought or obtained for money or other valuable consideration.
- Originating or characterized by, or associated with corrupt bribery.
- Venal demonstrates the adage that anything can be had if the price is high enough and the morals are low enough.
Eve was created for Adam to be his helper, not for him to USE her like a live-in prostitute. He was given a help-meet, an ‘ezer (H5828) for him (H5048 – neged = in front of him, in sight of, opposite to). A warrior!
Genesis 2:18 KJV – 18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an HELPmeet (H5828) for him.

Imagine how the corporate church will be transformed when men get the reality check that THEIR relationship with and pure submission to the LORD and His commandments will transform their marriages and the health of their families and in turn their entire societies, for Tomi points out men are the culture transformers whereas the women are the culture nurturers. They will manifest the transformation within their families of Isaiah 61 from shame into double portion. Jezebel only got a foothold into the land because Ahab FIRST brought her into the land and entered into covenant with a pagan wife by FIRST compromising his covenant with the Heavenly Father. The solution to dislodging the Jezebel stronghold over North America is the men returning into covenant and intimacy with the Heavenly Father once again!
