I woke up at 1:23am this morning with an ah-ha on how to unlock barren wombs, not only physically but spiritually too. Both Abraham and Isaac caused barrenness in their wives. Eve was deceived but God put the responsibility of the sin on Adam. Husbands, as the spiritual covering of the home, are ultimately the ones who are responsible for any sin that happens within their camp and as such, they also hold the key to bringing fruitfulness back into the home.
Back on Dec 31, 2018 the LORD highlighted in a public release of a prophetic warning that Ezra, Nehemiah, Malachi, and Esther would provide the template and strategies for entering into this new season (which many prophetic voices are saying will be a new era). https://www.facebook.com/stephenjulia.kelly/videos/2208331342511219/
Go read the entire chapter of Malachi 3 to really set your teeth on edge. It lists out several specific sins that will bring judgment down upon your head as well as the protection upon those who walk in obedience to God’s covenantal commandments.
But for this specific post, I want to focus on Malachi 3:8 – 11 – 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes AND offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye ALL the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.11 And I WILL REBUKE THE DEVOURER for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall YOUR VINE CAST HER FRUIT BEFORE THE TIME in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
Now cross-reference that verse with Psalm 128:3 – Thy WIFE shall be as a fruitful VINE by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
1) When husbands tolerate or actively participate in the withholding of the GROSS tithe (10% of the amount the government would charge income tax on), their household is robbing God and participating in idolatry and serving Mammon. If the government gets its gross tithe via income tax and God gets only the scraps of the net income, the government has become your god. That family will be cursed with a curse.
2) When husbands hide their sins and the sin of those within their home, they will not prosper. Abraham’s and Isaac’s sins were fear of man, self-preservation, and deception. Offerings in this Malachi 3 passage is not referring to when the pastor tells the usher to hand around the “offering plate”. That is a spirit of religion, witchcraft, Leviathan, and Mammon twisting the words of the Bible for selfish gain as well as to abort people from walking in blessed obedience because they think they already DID obey. Offerings were when people would bring an offering to the tabernacle, usually to publically atone for their sin or for a thanksgiving/heave offering with a blood sacrifice or sometimes with oil and fine flour. God is more interested in our hearts than He is our wallets. (Side note – Oil was produced by crushing the olives until the oil ran freely. Flour was the grain that was threshed to remove the chaff, which represents the flesh/sin, then crushed and ground repeatedly until it was FINE flour. Both represent the crucifying of our wills and surrendering to the purification of God’s fire.)
Now for the short version of our own testimony of this principle in action. We were married for 5 years and unable to carry a pregnancy. Fertility workups showed I had a physical birth defect, PCOS, and hormonal problems that rendered my uterus fruitless on all fronts and told to go adopt. One day our pastor suddenly stopped mid-sermon and spontaneously prayed for all the infertile married couples. The prophetess who prayed for us, not knowing our medical history, informed us that not only would we conceive but that we would carry to full term AND deliver vaginally IF we walked in obedience to Malachi 3:8-11. She did not know God had already been heavily convicting us in this area but we had been rebelliously resistant. In Edmonton, the difference between net tithe and gross tithe in our case was DOUBLE the amount. Our argument was that we were already living paycheck to paycheck, we couldn’t “AFFORD” to tithe on our gross! The pastors were being greedy! They weren’t wise stewards of the money, anyway! Yep, the spirit of poverty and Mammon had an iron grip on our mindsets.
Sure enough, we discovered the next month that not only was I pregnant but that I carried twins! When we walked into the church, she took one look at me and started her African warrior whoop / shrill as she danced up the aisle yelling, “You’re pregnant, you’re pregnant! Hallelujah!” She reminded me again that God’s protection would only be upon this pregnancy as long as we came under His protection through obedience. I was SO offended that she had the audacity to tell us what to do with OUR money! Who did she think she was??? I fought my husband and refused to support his willingness to obey. His sin was that he caved to fear and self-preservation instead of putting me in my place and God in His.
My pride and rebellion ended up being deadly because our delay in obedience resulted in the death of Mekenzie AND my job, which supplied 69% of our income. The life of Mikayla was hanging in the balance with very little hope of survival. God allows judgment in our lives to bring us to the place of humbling ourselves so that He can lift us up and prove that He is still God. Finally broken enough, I agreed to LET my husband bring the WHOLE tithe to the church (which at that point, God clearly told us we had to back pay the tithes to when we had been given the initial instruction). I told God it would be HIS fault when we ended up having this baby on the streets because tithing on our gross, not even factoring in the back pay, would bankrupt us. Isn’t God so gracious in that He doesn’t require us to be 100% pride-free and sin-free before He’s willing to work with us?
As soon as God had some obedience to work with, He stepped in and started manifesting in our finances. Doors to new provision sources that didn’t require me to work suddenly opened. Creative ideas to reduce our expenses popped into my husband’s head. However, it still wasn’t enough to make ends meet. But God! Our bank account should have been $2000 in the red each month but somehow the balance never went down! We were offered a transfer back to Ontario, all moving expenses paid, that ended up positioning my husband for future prosperity that was unlocked as we lined up in further obedience. Despite all medical odds, Mikayla was born vaginally 40 weeks and 1 day, seconds before the surgeon walked through the doors to perform the emergency C-section.
Once we humbled ourselves, we clung to that prophetic word that if we were obedient, then God had to come through on His end. That is the power of coming into covenant with God. We can faithfully stand upon His promises WHEN we meet the conditions. And when we DO meet them, we can be boldly courageous that God will meet His. There were so many times I could have come into agreement with the repeated declarations of death over my pregnancy by the medical staff who lived by medical statistics and not by faith, given into fearmongering over the medical complications and accepted the C-section at 35 weeks, or lost my faith in God’s provision. If I had waffled in fear and doubt, I would have lost out on so many blessings. Thank goodness that God was able to redeem my sinful stubbornness and transform it into tenacity.
Unlocking my womb physically by surrendering physically in the area of our finances began the progressive unlocking of spiritual fruitfulness to start manifesting in other areas. As we surrendered step by step through the LORD’s gentle instruction, and sometimes more painful correction, we moved from a life shackled by bondage on every front to a life that manifests the blessings of Deuteronomy 28 more and more each day. What He did for our family, He can do for yours! We now have a godly marriage with 4 beautiful children, and more on the way.
