Beware Of the Prowling Fox Herod

Previously, I have mentioned either here or in person to those who come through our home that the 10 chickens we were instructed to get back on August 2020 as a prophetic act of Matthew 23:37 and Luke 13:34 were reduced to 4 in the Fall. 6 were killed by an unknown intruder while in the OUTSIDE run that had no overhead covering. The fencing was large 4” square gauge steel instead of the inner coop that was made of the heavy 1cm chicken wire enclosure including the ceiling to keep out hungry hawks.

Someone suggested we use a Game Motion Camera when we discovered some fresh tracks in the snow in the backyard near the coop. It caught a Red Fox on Feb 26th, inside the outer run. The tracks helped us identify it had run up a DEAD TREE that was supporting the outer fence and into the coop.  Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.

March 9, 2022 the word “Fox” in reference to Herod was highlighted.  In context:

Luke 13:27-35 KJV –  27 But he [Jesus] shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YE WORKERS OF INIQUITY. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. 31 The same day there came certain of the PHARISEES, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for HEROD WILL KILL THEE [**The body of Christ, since he can’t kill the Spirit.**]. 32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that FOX, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. 33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. 34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which KILLEST THE PROPHETS, and STONEST THEM THAT ARE SENT UNTO THEE;  how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a HEN doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! 35 Behold, YOUR HOUSE IS LEFT UNTO YOU DESOLATE: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”

Digging through the scriptures on foxes and jackals, since the different translations use those words interchangeably, it was exposing that God was highlighting our needed vigilance to take authority over and cast out a Spirit of Herod. (**Cross-reference with other prophets words about Jackals and my own about many church buildings becoming a Haunt for Jackals.)

Highlights about Herod that stood out:

  • Herod was NOT an ethnic Jew nor a circumcised heart Jew. (Rom 2:28-29)

  • Judea was taken by force by the Romans and Herod made King of the Jews. The kingly throne was not his inheritance by birth or genealogy or anointing. It was usurped via a political spirit. The religious and political melded into one.

  • He felt threatened by the Magi’s declaration that they had come to find the REAL King of the Jews that would expose he was a counterfeit. Out of self-preservation of his power and throne, he was willing to murder an entire city of baby boys.

  • He and those closest to him did not like having their sin exposed by John the Baptist. Instead of repenting, they allowed the lust of the flesh to grow,  which led to a demand for John the Baptists’ head on a platter. He chose to save his reputation out of fear of man and throw the man of God under the knife.

  • He stole God’s glory for his own and ended up being judged with death, as a destroying angel caused him to be devoured by worms.

  • There were 4 generations of Herods, which God sent prophets to call them to repentance but they would not. The 4th generation resulted in the family line being wiped out permanently. Curses will come upon you, pursue you, overtake you, and finally destroy you if you do not repent.

The Solution:
The LORD was able to preserve the rightful heirs because they LISTENED and OBEYED the messengers of the LORD. In Joseph and Mary’s and the Magi’s cases, the messengers were angels, both face to face and in their dreams.

Striking Parallel:
I noticed a striking parallel with King Saul, which previous words have pointed out that the Sauls are going down, and the House of David will come up:

  • The people didn’t WANT God’s choice of His prophets and judges so he gave them up to the desires of their hearts of wanting a mere human as their ruler which brought devouring.

  • King Saul did not like being told to repent by Prophet Samuel and lost his kingdom as a result of his rebellion and stubbornness. No longer would he be a king to the LORD, just to mere men. The Kingdom of Heaven had been removed from him, leaving him unable to fulfill his destiny to conquer the Philistines.

  • King Saul did not have a circumcised heart, evidenced by the lack of the Fear of the LORD.

  • King Saul was easily manipulated by fear of man and in turn manipulated others through fear and intimidation with his temper.

  • King Saul allowed his bitterness and jealousy over his lack of true authority to release a murderous javelin at the anointed man of God who feared the LORD.

  • King Saul had an executioner also, Doeg (whose name means “Fearful”) that killed the descendants of the Sons of Eli for supporting David.

  • King Saul died a premature death by suicide after being wounded by his enemies.

If we are to beware of the prowling foxes, we need to be careful not to fall into the ditch of developing an unhealthy fear of ALL strangers or new people because  God will be giving His children new shepherds after His own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding.

How do we identify the trustworthy God-ordained authorities?

  • Rightful heirs will be operating within their God-given authority, not merely man-given, and accountable to God’s Laws, not merely church rules & regulations.

  • In order to become mature heirs to receive their inheritance, they will have been tutored by the Laws of God, humbly endured chastening and nurturing that would discipline them up in maturity to release the nature and character of Christ. An immature heir will be treated the same as a servant and not have access to their inheritance.

  • They will be filled with and be able to release the power and fruit of the Holy Spirit.

  • Repentance and holiness will be a key theme because you cannot truly know God while living in compromise, for His face turns away from those who cling to their iniquity. (Isaiah 59:1)

  • They will not have debt, for debt is evidence of the curse landing upon the lack of consistently hearing and obeying God’s commandments,  for if they don’t have the character to wisely steward the world’s riches, why should they be trusted with the precious eternal souls of men? Mammon will have no hold on them but rather they will have possessed the Fear of the LORD which is their treasure.

  • There will be a trail of healthy fruit with everything they touch.

  • Instead of seeing God’s children as their prey to feed off of (for provision, promotion, pleasure, etc) and chasing after filthy lucre, God ordained authorities will be focused on raising up their spiritual sons to be fruitful sons like Paul did with Timothy to build God’s Kingdom. They will not be intimidated by their spiritual sons’ successes but rather rejoice in it.
